Hi! This is a little chat server I run for family and friends while I build Slandr, my own chat app. It's in beta, so things change often and sometimes break. That's part of the fun, and it's why you're here.

House rules

1. Be nice. Tease each other all you want, but nobody should come away feeling bad.
2. Nothing illegal, and nothing you wouldn't want Grandma to stumble across in a channel everyone can see.
3. No spam. No ads, no chain messages, no flooding.
4. Keep each other's stuff private. What's said here stays here. Don't screenshot someone's messages and post them somewhere else without asking.
5. Speak up. If someone breaks these, tap ⋯ on the message and choose Report, or just message me.

Your stuff and your privacy

The honest version:

• Everything lives on my server, not with some big company. No ads, no tracking, and I never sell or share anything.
• I'm the one running it. DMs aren't end-to-end encrypted, so as the person with the keys I could technically look at things. I won't, unless someone reports something and I have to check on it.
• Notifications are private. Push notifications only say who messaged you and where, never what they said.
• Deleting a message hides it for everyone, but a copy can stick around on the server and in backups for a while.
• Your data is yours. Settings → Privacy → Download your data gets you a copy of everything you've posted, and Settings → Profile lets you deactivate or delete your account whenever you want.

The fine print

• It's a beta. I'll do my best to keep it running and keep your messages safe, but I can't promise it'll never go down or never lose anything. Don't keep anything here that you can't afford to lose.
• Things will change. Features come and go as I build. If I change these rules, I'll let you know here, and for anything big I'll ask you to read it and accept it again.
